A Letter to My Mom on Mother’s Day

Mom,

Where do I begin?

As a little girl, you were my world.

It’s obvious in all the stories I’ve been told of my early days.

I only had smiles for you.

Can you blame me?

You were our rock. You dedicated your life to raising the four of us. Now that I’ve got two of my own, I can imagine how hard and crazy that was for you. Was it hard Mom? If it was, we sure couldn’t tell.

I remember it all Mom. The homemade Halloween costumes, the cookies and the meals from scratch. The Christmas mornings, the donuts after Church, and you at the breakfast table reading the paper waiting for us to get up.

After I had my first child our relationship changed. The appreciation I have for you is forever growing now that I’m experiencing motherhood myself.

When I was an overwhelmed first time Mom you were there to answer all my ridiculous questions. Your advice was always spot on. But of course, it was. You raised four of us!

Your love is endless. The love you show for your children and grandchildren is beautiful and unconditional. You’ve taught me how to love without limits and for this I’m forever thankful.

You’re kind, supportive and incredibly intelligent. You have been and will always be the ultimate role model.

You moved mountains Mom.

Love you,

Christine
